2 Weeks in South Africa
What you'll do
If you have 2 weeks in South Africa, this is the best itinerary ! It includes Cape Town, the Garden Route and whale watching, Graskop and its beautiful nature, and Some safaris in Kruger !
Day 1
Land in Cape Town ! Checkin in your hotel. Personally I stayed in a wonderful Airbnb. It's a 3 bedroom penthouse right in the center of Cape Town with incredible views of table mountain and Signal Hill. From there we could walk around easily to greenmarket square and Bo-Kaap. These 2 places didn't feel safe as there were too many homeless people, but we didn't have any issues. Head to V&A waterfront before sunset for some drinks and dinner. I loved Life Grand Cafe, very good food and good views.
Hotel
Hiphouse Penthouse
Luxury penthouse with stunning views
I stayed 5 days in this apartment, and it's one of the best places I stayed in my life !! I found it on airbnb for around 250$ per night (3 bedrooms). Hip House Luxury Penthouse in Cape Town has 360 degree views of Table Mountain, Lions Head and Devils Peak that will truly take your breath away. Located in the trendy West End neighbourhood it is a great spot for experiencing the city as a local - have fresh pastries and gourmet coffee delivered or simply walk down Bree Street and enjoy the pavement café culture and alfresco dining with many restaurants catering to all tastes. The luxury penthouse also offers amenities such as air conditioning, wifi, private outdoor pool (which is unheated) and parking available for two cars. It's well positioned for exploring and is close to attractions such as the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Company's Gardens and Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, while other services like concierge service, a chef and barman can be provided to make your stay more enjoyable. Hip House Luxury Penthouse puts you right at the heart of Cape Town – an amazing city-scape, vibrant nightlife and plenty of shopping within your reach.

Greenmarket Square
Dynamic historic market with diverse offerings
Greenmarket Square is a historic and vibrant square located in the heart of old Cape Town, South Africa. It was built in 1696 as a burgher watch house and used by many over the years, from vegetable markets, parking lots, to slave markets. Today, it serves as a flea market that trades mainly African souvenirs, crafts, and curios. Near the center of the square lies a hand-operated pump which brings clean water from an underground river that runs through the city. During the apartheid era, Greenmarket Square often served as a destination for political protests due to its location near parliament and the ethnicity of its traders and shoppers. Its pedestrianized central area showcases bustling activity enjoyed by visitors and locals alike to explore its many offerings.
Note : Last time I went there was a lot of homeless people around, so it didn't feel safe.

The Bo-Kaap is an exciting vibrant area located in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a former racially segregated area and comprises of pre-1850 architecture, cobblestoned streets, and voorsteps - making it the oldest surviving residential neighborhood in the city. Home to the largest concentration of Cape Malay culture, this multicultural neighborhood is also known for its brightly coloured homes and diverse population which includes Muslims, Indians, Coloureds, Filipinos, Africans, Portuguese, and Italians. In recent years, due to economic expansion, property in the Bo-Kaap has become highly sought after and a declaration of 19 sites as National Heritage means that the community can preserve its unique cultural and historical significance.
Note : there was a lot of homeless around, it didn't feel safe.
